Today marks the final week of our internship.
For myself however, I will be here next week as well to help out with the continuing yoga research project that ends next week.
I’m excited to finally see our projects come to a close and see the finished product. Its a strange feeling of accomplishment seeing all of the various projects and events come to an end after working on them for such a short period of time. Its bittersweet to see it all come to an end but exciting to see what the future holds.
Today is the official first day of classes for the yoga research project. They were supposed to start two days ago but this is first day this week that the campus is actually open due to storms that we had over the weekend and into Monday.
I am hoping for a good turn out considering the closures may have thrown people off and may leave them confused as to whether or not the yoga classes are going to continue to happen.
This week we had the opportunity to take part in a traditional Ukrainian dance workshop from Nathaniel Ostashewski as well have training on how to create digital stories.
It was an interesting experience to say the least. After a little bit over a half hour of the dance workshop I was dead tired. Not sure how people can do it for hours on end or even as a career.
Unfortunately after that I had to leave, but I enjoyed the little bit of it that I actually got to experience.
To answer the title, No I am not. But it was a good segue to what has been going on this week.
On Tuesday and Wednesday this week we held registration for the upcoming yoga classes/ research project. On Tuesday, we only had about six people register when it was being held at The Centre for Sound Communities. A much lower number than we were hoping for or expecting to sign up.
We decided to set up registration in the cafeteria for Wednesday for more foot traffic and a place where people were more familiar with. The change of location seemed to help because at the end of it we had almost twenty more people sign up for yoga classes.
Really looking forward to helping out the research team as much as possible over the next month.
We are now entering the final phase of the internship.
You would figure that everything would be coming to a close and just tying up loose ends. However, the yoga registration is about to begin in the next week or so and we are almost finished filming all of the interviews for the verschuren project.
Stay tuned, more to come in the wonderful and exciting blog of Adam Farrow.
